ISM 2016 Programme Update

  • ISM 2016

On the 17th and 18th of November 2016 EuropeActive will host the 7th International Standards Meeting. It’s the event of the year for key stakeholders of European and global qualification standards development for the fitness sector. With all the European changes that are happening, it’s very important to stay up to date and discuss with each other what the consequences are for our industry.

We’ve asked you to save the date and can now provide additional information with regards to the programme, speakers and location. The ISM 2016 will take place in one of the world's oldest cities: Athens. The Greek capital was voted as the third best European city to visit in 2015 by European Best Destination and it seemed only natural for ISM to pay this beautiful city a visit in 2016.

The event will be held at Hotel Titania on Panepistimiou Avenue in the city centre of Athens. The hotel is surrounded by some of the most important monuments of the Grecian History, such as the Acropolis, the Parliament and the Archaeological Museum.

We’ve planned for highly informative and engaging presentations and discussions on subjects such as recent and expected political and educational changes in Europe, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and the importance of co-operation on an international level. Delegates will play an important role in this as they are asked to actively participate in the different panel-led workshops. Anthony Wall from ACE, Alexis Batrakoulis from GR.A.F.T.S. Hellas, Jean-Ann Marnoch from Les Mills and Marco Petrin from ELAV are already confirmed as panellists.

The ISM will also include a full social programme including a guided city walk, a roof top yoga session with Joanna Drandaki, one of the best yoga teachers in Greece and a networking dinner with a stunning view of the city at the Olive Garden Restaurant on Hotel Titania’s 10th floor.

This event provides delegates an unmissable opportunity to update themselves on the challenges and opportunities that face us all in ensuring the highest standards of qualifications and training provision for the fitness sector workforce. Expect full details of the ISM programme, accommodation, prices and registration around August 15. Special room rates for delegates apply.
