The World Health Organisation (WHO) has listed 10 threats to global health for this year that will require the attention of the organisation and its partners. One of these threats is Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs), which include diabetes, cancer and heart disease. They are collectively responsible for over 70% of all deaths worldwide. One of the main risk factors causing the increase of NCDs is physical inactivity.
WHO will work with governments and partners to reduce physical inactivity by 15% by 2030. This goal is pretended to develop through actions such as implementing the ACTIVE policy toolkit to help get more people being active every day. They can trust on EuropeActive to help turning over this stream of inactivity.
EuropeActive works every day to get more people, more active, more often through concrete actions such as our Let’s #BEACTIVE project, which aims to convert many thousands inactive Europeans into living active and healthier lives, and also our National Fitness Days Campaign, which focuses on the fitness sector to welcome as many people as possible to try participate in events aimed at physical activity promotion.
