2014 International Standards Meeting, Amsterdam
5th International Standard Meeting (ISM), Amsterdam, Netherlands 2014
As the Chair of Europe Active’s Standards Council I invite you to join us at our 5th Annual International Standards Meeting (ISM), which will be hosted in Amsterdam at HealthCity Club Amstelveen.
The overall theme of the ISM 2014 will be The Future of Fitness – Challenges between Standardisation and Commercialisation. As confirmed after the four previous meetings in London (2010), Brussels (2011), Barcelona (2012), and Budapest (2013), we recognize that we have an agreed global approach to improve education, recognition and social impact of exercise professionals and the fitness sector worldwide, and more importantly is that we have already shown that we can collaborate and work together. We have put together an attractive programme including keynotes as well as roundtable sessions addressing the acute questions for standardization like: How to deal with trends in exercise and fitness? How to emphasize social skills without neglecting the technical components? Are there potentials of training courses for new target groups?
The International Standards Meeting has already become the most relevant occasion for cooperation in the worldwide fitness sector. We again have had great feedback from experts who want to attend and we will try to represent and include all the most important topics of the day – as well as providing the best networking event for anyone involved in standards-setting and delivering qualifications and certifications in fitness.
Accordingly we have adjusted the programme, which can be viewed here.
And remember that the challenge that we defined the previous years was that for the coming editions of ISM we need to advance our strong vision of international cooperation by working effectively with each other, to build sustainability and a clear sense of direction for the health and fitness. We already have been very successful in this regard by implementing new EQF-level 5 standards within the past 2 years. The initial ideas for these standards were grounded on discussions in expert groups of the meetings in Brussels and Barcelona. We should continue this approach!
The location for the 2014 International Standards Meeting in Amsterdam, Netherlands (14/15th of October) will be the HealthCity Club Amstelveen.
The event fee does not include accommodation, however, we have arranged special room rates for attendees at the following hotel:
