In the European co-funded project, DAPHNE, the use of wearable sensors over a 2-month period by 12-17 years old young people help them to lose a significant amount of body mass. It was recognised that the use of digital systems they are familiar with was a key element to support the feeling of self-empowerment which ensure motivation for behaviour change.
The European Heart Network has recently published its fifth edition of European Cardiovascular Disease Statistics 2017. It presents the most recent statistics related to Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) mortality, incidence, prevalence and effects. Every year 3.9 million deaths in Europe are linked to CVD.
