EuropeActive and the Women in Fitness Association (WIFA) have announced today, 8th March, International Women's Day, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which lays down the terms in which both sector representatives will strengthen their international cooperation to ensure the most positive future in terms of equal opportunities and equal treatment in the fitness and physical activity sector.
25 national associations came together as part of EuropeActive’s series of roundtables which are actively planning the future of fitness. European associations were joined by representatives from Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and Georgia to form the largest such interest group for three sessions exploring how international cooperation can help lead the sector out of COVID-19, to build political capital and to promote the importance of healthy lifestyles through a cooperative and mutually beneficial approach.
The European fitness and physical activity sector has a new plan for its future development for training, qualifications and employment following the publication of the detailed BLUEPRINT report. In the past 5 years EuropeActive has worked with partners to review, research and develop the complete plan for how fitness instructors will be skilled to work in the industry as we quickly move into the recovery and move into the future expansion of the sector.
EuropeActive and ukactive have today 3rd February announced a new agreement which will see the sector bodies continue to work together closely following Britain’s exit from the EU.
ukactive CEO Huw Edwards and EuropeActive Executive Director Andreas Paulsen signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the organisations’ joint mission of improving physical activity levels through the support and development of the sector.
Two major players in the European fitness industry will continue to work closely together for the coming years. EuropeActive, the leading voice and non-profit association representing the European fitness and physical activity sector, and FIBO, the leading International Trade Show for Fitness, Wellness and Health, have agreed to extend their partnership for another three years. The focus of the cooperation is to strengthen the fitness industry.
