EuropeActive is launching a renewed Sector Skills Alliance for Fitness and Physical Activity

After identifying and mobilising the Active Leisure sector as a combination of the fitness and outdoor sub-sectors from 2008 onwards, EuropeActive and the European Confederation of Outdoor Employers (EC-OE) launched the Sector Skills Alliance for Active Leisure in 2016. The alliance was comprised of a strategic cooperation between key stakeholders: employers, operators, trade unions, research, education, training institutions, public authorities and civil society organisations.

#BEACTIVE DAY brings together millions across Europe to celebrate active lifestyles

On Thursday 23rd September EuropeActive, together with its extended network of 26 national association partners organised the #BEACTIVE DAY campaign as the fitness and physical activity sector's contribution to the European Week of Sport. In previous years the campaign has already proven to be a highly successful in underscoring the fun and importance of exercise and to encourage people to lead an active lifestyle.

EuropeActive gets ready for #BEACTIVE DAY and the European Week of Sport

With just a few weeks until the 2021 European Week of Sport official kick-off and the #BEACTIVE DAY campaign on Thursday 23rd September, EuropeActive is set and ready to promote physical activity across Europe and beyond.  
 
The #BEACTIVE DAY represents an initiative from the fitness and physical activity sector to celebrate the fun and importance of exercise and to encourage people to lead an active lifestyle.

EuropeActive and Sibec Europe gear up for their November events

EuropeActive is pleased to announce that the European Health & Fitness Forum (EHFF), the premier European educational and networking event for our industry's leaders, will take place on November 3rd, along with Sibec Europe, the leading hosted buyer event for suppliers and operators. Despite FIBO being postponed in November in order to fully focus on FIBO in April 2022, the leading international trade show for fitness, wellness and health will support the aforementioned events hosted by EuropeActive and Sibec Europe.

SafeACTiVE Study: Data collection for second cycle in progress

EuropeActive is pleased to announce that a second cycle of the SafeACTiVE Study is currently being developed with the aim of analysing the levels of COVID-19 transmission risk in fitness clubs and leisure facilities. With more than 115 million visits analysed across 14 European countries, the average transmission rate sat at 1.12 per 100.000 visits, according to the previous SafeACTiVE Study published in December 2020.

EuropeActive gears up with its DEI work

EuropeActive's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Advisory Group roadmap keeps progressing towards its established milestones re gender-balance and gender equity. The recently elected Board of EuropeActive provides a stronger representation of national associations and gender-balance than ever before, with women holding 60% of the seats and eight countries represented through the different Board members. The Sectoral Charter to be released in November embodies DEI as a mainstream topic of forthcoming publications and events.

EREPS surveys show the negative impact of Covid-19 but reveal positive and innovative industry adaptations to meet the skills challenges and opportunities of the future.

The results from the latest EREPS member and employer surveys are indicative of the turmoil Covid-19 has created over the last 18 months. Fitness professionals and clubs have been negatively impacted individually and collectively. However, despite these tough times both groups are planning for the future and the opportunities that this will bring.
