On Friday 5th November, EuropeActive hosted virtually the 12th annual International Standards Meeting (ISM), the European flagship event for training providers, employers, practitioners and other key stakeholders involved in training and education. Under the theme ‘Transforming the fitness industry through Standards’ speakers and panelists explored how upskilling our industry's workforce and the use of digital technology can significantly impact the evolution and growth of the fitness and physical activity sector.
EuropeActive hosted its 2021 European Fitness Associations Forum (EFAF) on Thursday 4th November in Cologne, Germany. The hybrid event included national associations representatives joining on-site and virtually to discuss how to professionalise the sector through standards, how to create a better fiscal environment for our sector, the importance of data collection through the European DataHub project and other key issues affecting their daily work.

In 2019 there were more than 14.3 million Baby Boomers in the UK, making it the largest generational group. Boomers, born between 1946-1964, are aged 57 to 75 today, in 2021. Boomers do not want to get old – I’m a boomer, I should know! That’s my first qualification to write this article.
On Thursday 23rd September EuropeActive, together with its extended network of 26 national association partners organised the #BEACTIVE DAY campaign as the fitness and physical activity sector's contribution to the European Week of Sport. In previous years the campaign has already proven to be a highly successful in underscoring the fun and importance of exercise and to encourage people to lead an active lifestyle.
