EuropeActive is now a member of the Pact For Skills

EuropeActive has successfully joined the Pact for Skills, endorsing the European Commission’s engagement model for skills development in Europe. The Pact for Skills aims to mobilise a concerted effort for quality investment in skills for all working age people across the Union by bringing together all stakeholders, private and public, which share the objective of up- and reskilling Europe’s workforce and facilitating public-private cooperation.

MEPs approve the report on Beating Cancer strategies

On 16th February 2022, the European Parliament adopted the report of the Special Committee on Beating Cancer (BECA) with 652 votes in favour, 15 against and 27 abstentions. This report puts forward several recommendations for a comprehensive and coordinated EU strategy to fight cancer. In particular, it highlights the necessity of focusing not only on care, but on prevention.
Indeed, more than 40% of all cancers are preventable through actions targeting behaviour-related risk factors.

The 9th Erasmus+ Sport Info Day focusses on new aspects of the programme and top tips for applicants

The European Commission and the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) held the annual Erasmus+ Sport Info Day online on January 31st and February 1st. 
The aim of the Sport Info Day was to inform organisations and potential applicants about the programme’s policy context, updates, simplification, and funding opportunities available in 2022.

The EU4Health 2022 Work Programme has been published

On January 14th, the European Commission published the second EU4Health work programme. With a budget of €835 million, the new programme will continue to fund projects on four focus areas: crisis preparedness, disease prevention, health systems and healthcare workforce, and digitalization. As a follow-up of the 2021 work programme, it will further invest in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, and the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA).
