For the commissioner, “sport is a team effort” so we need “everyone on board to achieve success” on this field. He also emphasised the challenges that sport faces, such as manipulation or doping, and the crucial need to fight them. Navracsics summed up by encouraging the sport sector to keep improving, aiming to get more people, more active.

The first session on sport policy  was chaired by Yves Le Lostecque, Head of Sport Unit - DG EAC of the European Commission. Speakers dealt with several topics related to sport prioritizing, integration, safeguarding of minors, funding categories and current European projects.

Session 2, headed by Ute Haller-Block, Head of Unit Erasmus+: Sport, Youth and EU Aid Volunteers, EACEA, related to the practical side of the conference, focusing on the submission and selection procedure. Hence, information, tips and recommendations for the development of project ideas were provided as well as possible partnerships or common mistakes when submitting the application. The following parallel working sessions informed attendants about the evaluation process, financial features and the sub-programme Small Collaborative Partnerships.

The last plenary session was managed by Marisa Fernandez Esteban, Deputy Head of the Sport Unit of the European Commission, and based on further EU funding opportunities followed by concluding remarks.
