2019 FAIR Forum

The 3rd Annual Forum will take place in Brussels the next 12-13 November in the framework of the FAIR Project on anti-doping in recreational sport. The Forum will provide an EU-wide platform for discussion, debate and cooperation to policy makers and key stakeholders and will contribute to the dissemination of good practice, study outcomes and anti-doping policy and actions in the EU.


Day one: “Taking the long view on doping in recreational sport” (by invitation only)

The first day will host a high-level policy discussion around actions in anti-doping in recreational sport. Representatives from the EU Commission, Parliament and Presidencies together with delegates from National and International Anti-Doping institutions will join the debate.

4 different speakers with different perspectives on the following questions will be invited to stimulate the audience in joining the debate and build a consensus on the best way forward.

  • Should we regulate doping in recreational sport? And if so, how?
  • Should NADOs have primary responsibility in anti-doping in recreational sport?

Day two: “A closer view of actions for anti-doping in recreational Sport”

The 2nd Day, FAIR partners will present the project findings and recommendations which will be contained in the Final Report.

Other three Erasmus+ anti-doping projects will be invited to present their work.

The last part of the FORUM will be as usual organised in the form of interactive session chaired by Professor Michael McNamee.

The audience will be mainly composed by representatives from the sports food industry, anti-doping authorities, academics and fitness stakeholders.
