Supporting the European Week of Sport (EWoS)

and

National Fitness Days

Supporting the European Week of Sport (EWoS) and National Fitness Days, #LetsBEACTIVE is already a successful campaign designed to promote fitness and physical activity across Europe as part of our goal to reach 80 million members of fitness facilities by 2025.

The Impact of Coronavirus

Recent developments concerning the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has had a huge impact on our sector with many fitness facilities having to temporarily close their doors. Whist we realise this is a challenging set of circumstances for us allit does also present an opportunity for operators and instructors to proactively engage with their membership and clients through other mediums to support them in maintaining their fitness activities.

This support could be as simple as sending positive messages through social media and/or personal trainers making themselves available for advice over the phone or messaging. Many operators and personal trainers are also offering a more dedicated support service through the use of digital solutions to maintain contact with their members/clients. This is typically done by publishing daily exercise classes, one-on-one PT sessions etc. that can all be delivered in the home environment.

For this reason, EuropeActive are renaming the 2020 #LetsBEACTIVE campaign to ‘#LetsBEACTIVE at home’ and we want to hear about your positive stories on how you, as an operator or instructor, have actively engaged with your membership/clients to keep them safely and effectively exercising.

With these positive actions we can show the European Commission and national governments how, in the face of adversity, the fitness and physical activity sector continues to proactively benefit the health of the our citizens – no matter where they are.

#LetsBEACTIVE at home is here to prove it!
