Sport Ireland announced an investment, for 2023, of over 26 million euros to the National Governing Bodies for Sport and the network of Local Sports Partnerships.

This is a 1-million-euro (6%) increase, compared to last year.

The Czech Chamber of Fitness launched an advertisement campaign, on the website and on social media, to promote the NEPPE project, coordinated by the Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport.

International training for pregnancy and postpartum exercise professionals is being offered within the project.

Evidence released by Youth Sport Trust revealed that fewer than half of primary schools say they could keep children active if school sport funding is cut.

Feb 15, 2023 - Spain

Last week, the National Federation of Sports Facilities Employers (FNEID) participated in a working session meant to define the business model for sports organisations.

Among others, Alberto Garcia, FNEID’s manager, pleaded for reducing the tax burden for the sports sector (to 10%), as part of the fight against inactivity.

Through the Support scheme “NL keeps on learning”, developed by the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, NL Actief allowed more than 1000 fitness professionals to access free education, and, subsequently, to obtain a diploma.

SIGA donated a 600-euro worth humanitarian package, composed of food supplies and blankets, to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

They also encouraged their members to provide assistance.

Almost 50 club operators received the quality certification “We care about quality”, based on the cooperation between the Czech Chamber of Commerce, the Czech Union of Tourism and the Czech Tourism agency.

This quality mark, which gathers more than 250 entities and is mainly used by entrepreneurs from the tourism sector, now includes fitness stakeholders.

Following a meeting with the Sports Minister, Stuart Andrew, on the energy crisis, ukactive issued a statement to request support for the physical activity sector.

As a reminder, the current Energy Bill Relief Scheme will be lifted on 31 March.

Applications for the Fitness & Health Awards 2022 are now opened, announced Portugal Active.

Their members are invited to vote for three awards, namely the Exercise and Health Innovation, Research, and Partner awards.
