The trade fair for sports and well-being, sponsored by Sportec and Gymtec, will be held during Finnclean, the largest event in the Nordic countries for the cleaning industry.

The event will take place in Tampere (Exhibition and Sports Centre), on 15th and 16th March 2023.

Feb 2, 2023 - Romania

The law on the deductibility of fitness memberships, which amends the Fiscal Code, was promulgated by President Iohannis.

Employees in Romania can benefit from gym subscriptions and medical recovery programs covered by their employers (with a ceiling of 400 euros/year for each employee). The provisions of the law will come into force on February 1, 2023.

Feb 2, 2023 - Latvia

The Latvian Health and Fitness Association (LVFA), the Latvian Ice Hockey Association and the Latvian Tennis Union have joint efforts to request the recognition of the sports sector as essential.

This would reduce the VAT rate to 5% and subsequently provide support for rising energy costs.

In line with the Packaging Act, commercial stakeholders must offer, from 1st January 2023, reusable alternatives to disposable containers for to-go food and beverages.

However, businesses smaller than 80 square meters and with no more than 5 employees are exempted.
