The Covid-19 Standards Task Force Group was established in 2020 to look at the implications of the pandemic for our current standards. As part of its work, the Task Force has introduced the lifelong learning qualification for the ‘Online Provision of Fitness Services’ to ensure that fitness professionals are given the knowledge and skills to successfully provide their services in an online environment.

The ‘Online Provision of Fitness Services’ qualification will now be included in EuropeActive’s suite of standard disciplines, and providers will be able to fill out applications for accreditation against this important new qualification standard. To apply please contact : accreditation@europeactive.eu

The Task Force has been hard at work and has produced some updates to the current standards which will include:
  • greater reference to the need of fitness professionals to work with various digital technologies
  • the importance of being physically active for establishing a robust immune system
  • how to adapt exercise to alternative environment (e.g. outdoor, home)
  • how to conduct an exercise session with minimal equipment

The Task Force is currently reworking the presentation format of our standards. These updates will be included in that work and will be made available towards the end of February.
