EuropeActive, KNFK, Agreement
On Friday, 20th September 2019 Paul Lengkeek and Alain Verzi of the Royal Dutch Power Sport and Fitness Association (Koninklijke Nederlandse Krachtsport & Fitnessbond - KNKF) and Julian Berriman and Anja Beverwijk, of EuropeActive’s Professional Standards Committee, signed a Memorandum of Trust and Understanding (MoUT) between their organisations. The MoUT lays down the terms for the future set up and operation of REPS-NL, the Dutch register for exercise professionals, and establishes the principle of mutual recognition between the European Register of Exercise Professionals (EREPS) and the Dutch register.

This initiative represents another significant step forward in the harmonisation of European fitness qualifications and the realisation of common standards for the education of fitness professionals across the fitness sector. Mr. Lengkeek, the KNKF President, referred to the agreement by saying that “the KNKF is delighted to sign this exclusive partnership. We will be able to work closely with EuropeActive in developing REPS-NL in line with EREPS and European educational standards. We are convinced that this will raise the quality of fitness professionals and their training”.

Julian Berriman also commented on the Memorandum: “The signing of the MoUT with KNKF is a significant step forward toward the reciprocal recognition of fitness qualifications across Europe. EuropeActive is honoured to be working with such an established and prestigious body as the KNKF and relishes the prospect of our future co-operation”.
