EuropeActive recently conducted a survey of 140 EuropeActive accredited training providers from across Europe and beyond to better understand trends in training provision, highlight areas of good practice and to reveal some of the challenges faced by training providers as we recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some of the initial results of the 2022 Training Provider Survey yielded some fascinating insights. For example, 80% of training providers responded that they have been a training provider for longer than 5 years and 80% of learners are under 30 years of age.
In terms of numbers of learners, 40% of providers were training fewer than 100 learners a year while 48% were training anywhere between 100-600 learners annually for the sector. 56% of providers had seen a decrease in learner numbers since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, while 20% experienced an increase. 88% of providers stated that they delivered more of their courses online as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As we emerge from the COVID-19 period and the threat to our health it represented, it is also interesting to see that 72% of providers have courses that focus on chronic physical health conditions e.g. diabetes, cardiac rehabilitation, cancer care and low back pain management.
The Training Provider Survey is run annually and provides on-going insights to enable EuropeActive to best adapt and shape the development of educational standards, accreditation services and EREPS. The full results of the survey will be published soon on www.europeactive.eu
