Every year from 23-30 September, millions of Europeans from across the continent celebrate physical activity during the European Week of Sport. Even though this year’s edition will of course be quite different from previous editions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a whole range of events and activities will be organised, on-line and off-line, in every European country to promote active lifestyles. As a growing body of evidence is showing, physical activity is part of the solution for the pandemic and it is now more important than ever to be active for your immunity, resilience, community and wellbeing.

The fitness and physical activity sector is one of the key partners of the European Week of Sport and through the National Fitness Day for Europe project and the Let’s #BEACTIVE project, EuropeActive and its partners are actively supporting The Week and are helping it to grow year on year. And with the very successful #BEACTIVE HOUR campaign, which was called a best practice by the European Commission, the fitness and physical activity sector has already demonstrated its resourcefulness, creativity and ability to reach a wide range of societal groups to promote active lifestyles in the most difficult of circumstances.

EuropeActive looks very much forward to another exciting and successful European Week of Sport.
