On 17th March, the European Commission announced the opening of #BeActive Awards nominations. These form a central element of the annual European Week of Sport, an initiative promoting sport and physical activity across Europe. The Awards honour European projects and individuals dedicated to promoting the benefits of sport and physical activity.
#BeActive Awards are divided into 4 categories, each with a thematic focus:
- #BeActive Education Award
This category aims to demonstrate how education can encourage and motivate children to be active, even outside regular school hours.
- #BeActive Workplace Award
The prize is dedicated to innovative activities implemented in the workplace environment that encourage and promote physical activity among employees.
- #BeActive Local Hero Award
The award recognises individuals who consistently promote participation in sports or physical activity in their local community.
- #BeActive Across Generations Award
The prize honours projects that encourage inter-generational inclusion in sports and facilitate access to physical activity for all age groups.
The deadline for entry submission is 17:00 (CET) on 25 May 2023. More information about the submission process and legal requirements is available here.
