The UKAD Clean Sport Week 2019 started last Monday and it is a great opportunity to celebrate clean athletes and their achievements, alongside the hard work of national governing bodies and sporting organisations in the fight to protect clean sport.
This year’s edition will focus on Image and Performance Enhancing Drugs (IPEDs) and in particular, the motivations for, and attitudes towards, their use in the gym environment.
In the occasion of the Clean Sport Week, UKAD launched the result of a survey who involved British gym users. Out of 361 people, 14% are aware of other members at their gym taking image and performance enhancing drugs (IPEDs) and steroids. More information can be found on social media under the hashtag #CleanSportWeek.
The survey was based on a methodology elaborated by EuropeActive in a previous EU funded project called Fitness Against Doping.
