SafeACTiVE Study – Preliminary results showing extremely low levels of Covid-19 risk in fitness clubs

EuropeActive, the leading voice and non-profit association for the European fitness and physical activity sector, is pleased to announce that preliminary data collected by King Juan Carlos University and AWRC-Sheffield Hallam University reveals extremely low levels of Covid-19 risk in fitness clubs and leisure facilities. With more than 62 million visits analysed, the average infection rate sits at 0.78 per 100.000 visits.

Success for EuropeActive’s Active Ageing Communities Project!

EuropeActive is delighted to announce that its project application, Active Ageing Communities- AAC has been selected by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ Sport Programme. The project, which is in partnership with the National Fitness Associations of six EU Member States and the University of Southern Denmark will begin in January 2021 and run for 24 months.

EuropeActive’s vision is to be the leading European voice for the fitness and physical activity sector to get more people, more active, more often. We aim to achieve this vision by arranging key industry events to share ideas and to help inspire better business and entrepreneurship. After FIBO announced that they will not run as a live event as hoped, but as an all-digital event for 2020, we have adapted our plans around these now-virtual FIBO days.

EuropeActive launches first episode of the new Active Podcast

After a series of very successful webinars the EuropeActive team has come together to create a new way of sharing information and inspiration from September 2020 onwards: a podcast. Titled the Active Podcast, there will be new episodes once every two weeks. The podcast will be available for members only, though the first introductory episode has been launched today and is accessible to all.
