Sport and Environment conference

On Tuesday 3rd of March, EuropeActive was invited to attend the event promoted by UEFA and EURACTIV ‘What is the Life TACKLE project’s contribution in achieving environmental sustainability in sport?’. The project, funded by the EU LIFE Programme, aims to increase awareness of environmental management in football stadiums in order to reduce waste during football events and to tackle other environmental issues linked to such events, including energy consumption and transportation.

European Alliance for Apprenticeships stakeholder event

The European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA ) invited members for the 'EAfA Get together!' event which took place on 13 February 2020 in Brussels. EuropeActive is an active part of this Alliance since 2017 to promote Vocational Education and Training (VET) and apprenticeships in the fitness, exercise and physical activity sector.

 The event provided new networking opportunities. It included a mix of presentations, exchange of good practices, interactive activities as workshops and networking opportunities.

EuropeActive strongly believes in the power of physical activity to bring people together and change lives for the better. The latest sport and physical activity initiatives developed in Brussels were carefully followed-up by attending the Sport Unit Policy Breakfast, the Sport “Infoday”, the Project Coordinators’ Meeting and the “Sport vs Homophobia” conference.

EU Commission launches the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan at the European Parliament

On Tuesday February 4th, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the European Commissioner for public health and food safety, Stella Kyriakides, were invited to the European Parliament by the MEPs Against Cancer group, to present the Commission’s flagship initiative in the fight against cancer: Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.

 

EuropeActive's FAIR+ project kicked-off in Brussels!

On Tuesday 28th January, EuropeActive's kicked-off FAIR+ first project meeting in Brussels. After successfully concluding the Forum for Anti-Doping in Recreational Sport Project (FAIR), which produced an extensive Final Report on existing doping prevention interventions and for food and food supplements across the EU 28, the FAIR+ project will keep the focus on doping in recreational sport with 3 main objectives:
