EuropeActive launches Green Audit project to address sustainability in fitness and sport clubs

On Wednesday 1 June, a new Erasmus+ funded project entitled “Green Audit for Sport and Fitness clubs” was officially launched by EuropeActive. 
The project aims to develop a comprehensive green audit tool for fitness and sport stakeholders in order to help them assess their current carbon footprint and support them in reducing it. The scheme will be piloted by 30 clubs in 5 countries (DE, ES, IE, NL, PT) before being made available to the wider fitness and physical activity sector.

New Health Project Partners meet at Sport Science School of Rio Maior, Portugal

For the last 2 years, EuropeActive has been coordinating the National Fitness Day for Europe (NFDEU) project, an Erasmus+ programme funded action. Its diverse consortium includes partners from 4 EU National Associations: SIGA, PortugalActivo, Ireland Active and ukactive and 4 non-EU partners: UkraineActive, GeorgiaActive, BHactive and TAKT.

BLUEPRINT holds the future education, employment and skills for the fitness sector

The European fitness and physical activity sector has a new plan for its future development for training, qualifications and employment following the publication of the detailed BLUEPRINT report. In the past 5 years EuropeActive has worked with partners to review, research and develop the complete plan for how fitness instructors will be skilled to work in the industry as we quickly move into the recovery and move into the future expansion of the sector.
