Cedefop publishes results of European Skills Index for 2022

The 2022 results of Cedefop’s European Skills Index have been recently unveiled. Using a composite indicator approach, Cedefop’s European Skills Index (ESI) measures the performance of national skills systems over time, building on three pillars of investigation: skills development, skills activation, and skills matching. The ESI also highlights the areas where further attention should be given to by each country and provides insights into possible improvement areas.

2020 ISM: Facing the New Normal Together

On Thursday 19th November 2020, EuropeActive successfully hosted the 11th annual International Standards Meeting (ISM), our flagship event for training providers, employers, practitioners and other key stakeholders in the fitness and physical activity sector. Although this year’s ISM had to be reconfigured into a virtual format to abide by important safety measures, more than 100 participants from 27 different countries tuned in.

Sector Skills Alliance for the Active Leisure‘s mission, since it was established in 2016, has been to identify sector-specific labour market needs, demand for new occupation profiles and skills needed to perform in the Outdoor and Fitness sector using scientific evidence.

Undoubtedly, the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the landscape and has obviously brought us to another reality where there are new skills needed, new needs created and new challenges for the sector to overcome.
