EuropeActive Appoints Kai Troll as New CEO to Propel European Health and Fitness Mission

Brussels, 20th of February 2024EuropeActive, the preeminent European Health and Fitness Association based in Brussels, proudly announces the appointment of Kai Troll as its new Chief Executive Officer. This strategic appointment underscores the organisation's commitment to its mission of getting more people, more active, more often, and stimulating the value of physical activity in society.

Following a comprehensive selection process conducted by the Board including a detailed assessment by a professional agency, Kai Troll was identified as the outstanding choice for the role.

Kai Troll brings a formidable blend of experience and expertise to EuropeActive. His career boasts vast experience in CEO/MD roles across various sectors including sports, associations, NGOs, health, entertainment, and philanthropy. Key highlights of his career include:

A member of a prominent family office in North America and Europe. He was involved with the International Sport and Cultural Association (ISCA) and has a broad history leading developments at several International and European associations in the field of disability,- NCD’s related topics, new technology,- sports and education.

Troll also serves as a volunteer President of Brussels based ASSOCIATIONWORLD, Europe’s largest network of European and international associations.

As such, he is the co-founder of the Geneva International Association Forum (GIAF), Brussels International Association Forum (BIAF), the Washington International Association Forum (WIAF), the Montreal International Association Forum (MIAF) and the Irish Association Forum (IAF). Previous positions include President and CEO of Best Buddies EMEA region, Director at Special Olympics Inc. in Europe / Eurasia and Senior Management Consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. He led partnership initiatives with Riverdance and other renowned commercial entertainment properties. Kai used to be a member of the UN Sport, Development and Peace Platform, is an active associate of the UN SDG, and a member of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Health Matter track.

Kai's appointment comes on the back of an exceptional track record in EU affairs, events management, strategic leadership, financial management, and senior level stakeholder engagement. The Board felt his experienced leadership style, marked by humility and adaptability, made him the ideal candidate to lead EuropeActive into a new era.
